Homeschooling, unschooling, world schooling can be a challenge for some parents and families depending on the home environment, resources available including time a parent has to dedicate to ‘teaching their child’ and overall the collective end goal. Some families, such as mine, prefer to maintain our respective roles- we are the parents and not my daughter’s teacher. That said we provide experiences, always have conversations about the world around us and overall work with her educators to nurture her curiosity, passion to learn and joy in learning new things.
In this modern world there are many different opportunities to ‘school’ our children and school does not have to be sending children off to buildings daily for learning. Some families as a result of lockdowns during COVID learned that having children ‘home’ or in alternative settings for their education is actually beneficial to the child and family. No longer do we have to fit life around school rather ‘school’ becomes part of life. Homeschooling families already know this benefit- just many may be challenged with the responsibility of taking on the academic program.
This is where CTL Academy Global can come in- we provide the fully accredited, academic program for 6th-12th grade learners to engage with and where they do the program is flexible- internet and having a device is required. Families can participate in the program as well or let their children take the lead and come into it when we have termly presentations.
Our learners are students wishing to go deeper and see the connection between what they learn and their lives. They may have a specific passion such as music, surfing, lego or they may need time to develop their passions- CTL Academy Global through the projects and themes will help support this through a personalized learning model.
